Blog Post 10

I chose to write about Beth’s Project 3. Beth’s project was based on joining the teaching community. She gave insight on how it related back to her Project 2, explaining the need for experience in the field before one actually becomes a teacher. For her genres, she used a poster, a blog post, and an email. Since her community is the College of Education here at FSU, she was able to post her poster there. She used it to encourage other members of her community to actively go out and volunteer at local schools, where they’d be able to gain needed experience in their field. She was not only able to stress the importance of volunteering at the local schools, but she also provided a list of schools that offered the opportunities to college students as well. For her blog, she made she the information that posted catered to her audience of “pre-service teachers,” which is good way of letting them know important things about their major and the career that they’re pursuing. Her last genre, an email, was more personal than the other two because it was a “thank-you” letter to a teacher that she shadowed. Beth was able to think and creative ideas that would also help other students, who hope to join the educational field one day. The way she used her genres was very clever and it helped to give me a few ideas of what to do for my Project 3.
